What to do &
see Music and dance are at the heart
of Dominican life. The school organizes
dance courses of Merengue, Bachata, and Salsa and
provides valuable insider tips to those eager to become
better acquainted with the more traditional and original
dancing spots.
The IIC also organizes leisure time activities
and short excursions together with the Dominican
students of the Casa Goethe, the German Department of
the Institute, like

One of the closest beaches to Santo Domingo is the Boca
Chica Beach, about 25 minutes away by public transport.
A variety of sports activities is available, too.
Furthermore on the leisure program of the school:
meeting the students of IIC Sosua/ Cabarete
and spending a fun time with them in Santo Domingo,
Sosua, or Cabarete
as well as excursions
to Las Terrenas on the beautiful peninsula of Samana or
going inland to the famous carnival of La Vega.
Of course, participation in activities and excursions is
always voluntary. Costs depend on the number of
participants; the excursions usually demand a minimum
turnout of participants.
